Do Cherries Make You Horny?

Back to school today.

I really like school, no matter what anyone thinks. It's a place where I get to see all my friends, and have fun, and actually LEARN things. I don't think that you could get any better than that.

Anyway, today I would like to introduce you to one of my best friends, Michelle (Who is responsible for the title of this entry).

Michelle is fifteen yrs old, with black hair and brown eyes, cool black rectangular glasses, and a great sense of humour. I like to call her "My Asian Twin", because we are in all the same classes (now 2 years in a row), grew up the same way, laugh at the same things, and are just generally good friends.

I love that now I am high school I have a lot of really awesome friends. I did before, but now I really appreciate it and love all the opportunities high school brings in that area. Now I am in Yr 10, I am worried we won't stay in touch once this is all over, but am happy just to live in the now.

Back to School

Okay, this is it, we're all going back to school. Normally, I would scorn anyone who said that they wanted to go back, but this year, I really do. Holidays are fun, but when you are as crap at keeping in touch as I am, you get sick of them quickly, especially if they go for six weeks.

Anyway, tomorrow is the day. My sister goes back today, because she is a senior, and I am left at home. Despite the extra day, which is extremely annoying, I am ready for anything Year 10 may throw at me!

P.S. For the last week or so, I have been at my Nan and Pop's house 3-4hrs drive away. And they don't have a computer. Sorry for the break in posts.

Pride & Prejudice

Okay, so I have been officially obsessed with this over the last few days. Almost as obsessed as I was over Twilight (a phase which I do not regret, yet am still slightly ashamed of), which, I have to admit, was pretty bad at one point.

This particular obsession was started when my sister and myself gave my mother the box set of the BBC TV mini-series, which, I must say, is clearly the better out of the two versions (ie. the mini-series versus the 2005 movie version) and is made better by the presence of Colin Firth (swoon).

I have been subconciously striving to speak and act in a way typical to the period, and read the book over again just to get my dose. At this point I should also confess to the fact I watched the entire series (that's SIX hours) in one day. And then over again the next day.

I am not ashamed of this obsession, considering the amount of people who are likewise enthralled by Jane Austen's most well-known book. Maybe I'll watch it again today.

New Header

If you haven't noticed my new header... LOOK UP ^

It was designed by a lovely girl named newspaper-hats. I am assuming this is not her real name. In fact I know this is not her real name. But, anyway, this is her blog.

Back to the header. I think it is quite beautiful and in my favourite colour too. PLUS... the elephant has wings. Awesome.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! newspaper-hats. LOVE IT!

Jemima Puddleduck

I must say I love Jemima Puddle-duck. She is pretty, has a great sense of fashion (I love the blue bonnet and the pink floral shawl) and is just fun to look at.

I do hold a little bit of disdain for Miss Puddle-duck, as she has to be one of the most stupid characters I have ever read about. But, you know what? It doesn't really matter, because I love her all the same. Especially her wonderful name.

Joanna Goldman

This has to be on of the cutest elephant drawings I have ever seen. It is by etsy artist Joanna Goldman, who creates custom designs and puts them on everything from magnets to light switch covers.

It is amazing how CUTE everything she makes is.

Nighttime

There is something special about staying up late. For me, anyway. I had never really been allowed to stay up late until recently, so being up past eleven o'clock is like a major feat for me. Which sounds sad.

I think you miss out on some things if you go to bed early. But then again, if you wake up late, you miss out on a lot too. Like the sunrise, or early morning television, which is usually crap but fun to watch all the same. I remember my sister would wake up at five thirty most weekends to watch the Beverly Hillbillies, and then continue on to watch the religious programs, even though she didn't believe in God.

I also remember thinking that eight o'clock was late. It is now a quarter past eleven, and I am going to go to bed. I hope tomorrow will be shiny and brand new.

P.S. I would like to wish my father the best of luck with his new job. Hope you love it.

Wishing It Was Winter

I love winter. For some reason I flourish in the cold. Maybe it's my Anglo-Saxon roots, or maybe I am influenced by the awesome clothes you get to wear. Whatever it is, I wish that it was still winter here in (sadly) sunny Australia.

So, too look for some cool (literally) inspiration, I turn to my good friends at Google Image Search, and looked for some pretty pictures featuring winter in the lovely country of Japan, where it is currently winter, and where the crickets have pretty songs, not endless droning like here in Aus, and I found this photo.
It is on the shore of Lake Tazawa, and the girl is wearing one of the most beautiful coats I have ever seen. Sadly, the coat is Dior by John Galliano, and costs $30, 440 American dollars, so my dreams of owning have been cut short. Oh well, one day I will find the perfect coat at the perfect price.
Check out the rest of the pictures from this shoot at the New York Times website, and you can drool over the clothes, the weather, or the setting, whatever takes your fancy.
P.S. I would like to say that I am aware that this coat features animal fur. By saying that it is a beautiful coat, I in no way condone the killing of animals for the purpose of fashion.
